Principal's Message

Principal Mark Zura Boardman High School

Spartan Families,

It is my sincere pleasure to welcome our students and families to BHS for the 2025-2026 School Year.  There is a lot of hard work being done by our amazing faculty and staff at Boardman High School  as we prepare to welcome our Spartan Students back to school.

BHS continues to make great educational strides.  According to the College Board, Boardman High School continues to set the bar in the region in terms of performance on Advanced Placement Testing.  BHS offers 16 AP Courses and continues to evaluate additional AP pathways for students.   As a result of our rigorous AP Program, we have 80 Total AP Scholars, the highest number ever.  New classes this year to Boardman High School are AP Seminar, CCP Introduction to Education, CCP Financial Literacy, Introduction to Computer Aided Design, and Introduction to Engineering. To further support and grow the pipeline of students from Glenwood Junior High School to Boardman High School, Mr. Lenhart and Mr. Harker will team teach and plan content in the STEAM realm.  Our STEAM faculty are eager to take advantage of the new STEAM lab which was constructed at Boardman High School.

In 2024-2025 athletics, Boardman High School Boys' Bowling team was State Runners Up. BHS won a conference high 9 AAC (All American Conference) Championships, with five players named AAC Players of the Year. This year Boardman had five teams qualify for state competition -  Boys Cross Country, Boys and Girls Bowling, Softball, and Cheerleading.   In addition, we had 11 individuals qualify for state level competition.

In the fine arts, the Boardman Orchestra sold out the BPAC for Project Mayhem and had its largest audience in attendance for the outdoor Project Mayhem Concert in Spartan Stadium which included fireworks at the conclusion of the show.  The Boardman Orchestra competed at the state level, receiving a Superior Rating.   The Boardman Jazz Band performed alongside world-renowned 2Saxy  and continues to perform at an ever-increasing number of community events. The Boardman Choir performed in Chicago and hosted a Madrigal Dinner for the community. Our visual arts program continues to receive accolades in local, state, and national competitions.

Boardman High School remains true to our mission statement “Together We Transform Lives Through Academics, Athletics, and the Arts.”

Take Care, Be Safe, and… GO SPARTANS!!!
