Greeting Spartan Families,

At Boardman High School, we have been enthusiastically preparing for the 2022-23 school year!  In addition to the normal intense cleaning and building improvements that normally occur, this year, there are many visible signs of construction and safety investments at work!

Examples of safety improvements include new door baricade devices and direct phone lines installed in every classroom at BHS. Camera upgrades and LED lighting have helped secure and illuminate parking lots and school grounds including Spartan Stadium. Eight exterior doors at BHS are also being replaced to ensure safety.

Construction crews have been busy all summer finishing the entrance and final phase of the Stadium Project.  You may also have noticed new Spartan banners across the BHS campus that were graciously provided by the Athletic Boosters.

One thing students will notice immediately, is new textbooks and software that coordinate to provide new math curriculum, ELA and  foreign language as well as a new AP US History class.

The competition has already begun for our sports teams, and we look forward to cheering them on.  Our lady Spartans were the first to experience a 10 week strength and conditioning summer program that was across all sports, and involved professional trainers and coaches.  Approximately 120 of our athletes were  involved in Lady Spartan Strength.

Once again, the marching band traveled for a week of band camp, we had a Choral camp as well, and many of our Spartans were involved in community theater over the summer.  The Arts are always practicing their craft, in Boardman!

Open House at the HIgh School is set for Wednesday, September 7 from 6-8 PM.  I hope to see you there, or at one of our sports contests, concerts, or performances.  Let's enjoy all the great possibilities the year has to offer!

Go Spartans!
