Boardman High School staff and students proudly wore green on Wednesday in honor of Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day, showing support for someone who is behind so many of the kind gestures and meaningful fundraisers that take place at BHS.

Mr. King does so much for others in our Spartan community, and today we came together to support his daughter, Olivia — our littlest Spartan warrior — who lives with cerebral palsy.

It was a powerful reminder that the strength of Spartan Nation goes far beyond classrooms and competition. We show up for one another, we lift each other up, and we stand together as a Spartan Family.

Because at Boardman, Spartans are never alone in their fight. 💚

Robinwood Elementary School did a FANTASTIC job raising money for the National Heart Association. This has been a school tradition for years, and this year was no exception.
They raised a total of $6,088 for Jump Rope for Heart!!
The students who raised $50 or more were in the $50 club and got to celebrate together with their bright green shirts that say "Lifesavers League".
They wore their shirts to school and enjoyed extra time in the gym signing shirt and playing some games with Mrs. Flores.
The money raised goes for research in the fight against heart disease!

More than 200 fifth graders at Boardman Center Intermediate School had an out-of-this-world experience connecting with Boardman alum and NASA structural engineer Nick Mastramico during two virtual learning sessions!

Students loved learning about the Artemis mission—including the fact that four astronauts will spend 10 days in a spacecraft about the size of a minivan 😲. Nick shared how the rocket is designed, the many safety checks before launch, and what it’s like working behind the scenes on NASA’s next trip to the Moon.

Nick also told students he knew he wanted to work for NASA when he was in 6th grade—and that he truly loves his job today at Marshall Space Flight Center.

His message to students: Dream big, discover what you enjoy, and lean into what you do well. 🌟
You never know where those dreams might take you!
