Spartan Families, as you prepare for the upcoming school year, don’t forget that Ohio’s traditional three-day sales tax holiday returns August 7-9, 2026.
The tax-free holiday begins at 12:00 a.m. on Friday, August 7, and ends at 11:59 p.m. on Sunday, August 9. Qualifying purchases include:
Clothing: General wearing apparel, including shoes, pants, shirts and coats, priced at $75 or less per item.
School supplies: Items such as notebooks, pencils, pens, binders and lunch boxes priced at $20 or less per item.
School instructional materials: Textbooks, workbooks and reference books priced at $20 or less per item.
This year, Ohio has returned to the traditional three-day tax holiday rather than the expanded 10-day holiday offered in recent years. The change follows new state legislation that eliminated the expanded holiday and higher price limits.

There are no supply lists for Boardman High School. BHS has no formal lists because student schedules and classes vary. Instead of a general list, teachers share specific course needs on the first days of school.
