Some catchy business names included “Playtime Nannies,” “Giggle and Grub” Food Truck, “Boardman’s Bounty” bakery, and “Crystal Clear” cleaning service. Students also considered pricing, insurance, labor and material costs, and local competition as part of their business plans.

Great job by these future business leaders!

One of our favorite long-standing traditions at BHS—Spring Fling! 🖤💛🌸 On the morning of Prom, our administration and staff fire up the grills to serve hamburgers and hot dogs to the students who stay to finish out the school day while our prom-goers head out after 3rd period. It’s a simple gesture that brings our school community together and makes the day even more special. You might even spot some familiar faces in the photos—retired staff members who come back each year to lend a hand. That’s the kind of tradition and pride that makes BHS so special. Here’s to great food, great people and great traditions!

Boardman Spartans showed their grit (and good spirits!) April 29th at the Regional Envirothon Competition held at Holden Arboretum 🌿🌧️ We took THREE teams to compete, and we’re excited to share that TWO of them earned top honors and are headed to the State Competition in early June! 👏 AP Environmental Science teacher and advisor Heather Moran shared: “2 teams placed in the top 4 (a three-way tie for 2nd place) and qualified for the state competition. I’m very proud of all 3 teams. They represented Boardman very well!” And yes… they were literally singing in the rain—soaked but smiling the whole way through ☔️🐀 Way to go, Spartans! 🌎💚

Students from the BHS Drone Program spent the day at Williamson Airfield, joining peers from 10 area schools for hands-on flight experience and career exploration.

They had the chance to pilot drones, connect with industry professionals, and ask questions about future opportunities. Students flew drones with the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Department and First Choice Drone Company, and also spoke with representatives from the U.S. Air Force about careers in aviation and technology.

Boardman High School Math teacher, Mr. Pallini, was happy to have the new Picasso tiles from the Boardman Schools Fund For Educational Excellence BSFEE teacher grant--as he recently prepared his students for End of Course exams in geometry.

The Picasso tiles are great tools for STEM concepts and you can magnetically build as you go-- so according to Mr. Pallini:
"I was using the tiles to address a common misconception: I could show the cross section of a cube is a rectangle instead of a square because the hypotenuse is the longest side length." 🫨Sounds hard, but when you can see and build it...💡🙌💡⚡️
